I recently got some new training tools from Mr Gary Phillips from Budo Buki, and I can’t wait to start using them. Not seen on the picture was also a Hanbo in the same colour. I chosed the colours, I guess you can get them in any colour you want.

Budo Buki is committed to providing quality handmade, affordable, padded training tools for the martial arts community. Through a great deal of research, we have developed strong, lightweight, durable products for Budo training. Seeing a lack of safe training tools on the market, we decided to fill the need with our line of covered and padded swords, staffs and long tools.

KIHON SEMINAR #06 with HOLGER KUNZMANN (May 2011)

This 82 minute video is from a seminar Holger taught at the Kaigozan Dojo in April/May 2011. On this video he teaches the Bujinkan Dojo Budo Taijutsu fundamentals. If you know the fundamentals really well you can then start putting each sequence together and better understand the ryu-ha kata. Without a good foundation, you can never really do the kata correctly.

The clips is from the morning sessions each day and contains …

Junan-undo : Warm-up exercises, self massage, flexibility and body conditioning exercises and routines.

Kamae : Proper body postures and how to move, Sabaki.

Tsuki : Striking exercises.

Keri : Kicking exercises.

Ukenagashi : How to block strikes and kicks.

Nage : Throwing exercises.

And much more. For example, we added 20 minutes extra material of some henka techniques from the Keiko#31 Gyokko-ryu Kosshijutsu Geryaku DVD (extra material that we couldn”t fit on the DVD). This DVD contains all 12 techniques from Geryaku (first level) of Gyokko-ryu and is 120 minutes long. A seminar in Kaigozan Dojo with Mats Hjelm, and Arne Elmlund

The theme this year was Hontai Takagiyôshin-ryû and Daishô. Arne was in Japan in october, and Mats was in Japan november/december. They taught mostly Takagiyôshin-ryû techniques including… Ikichigae, Kasumi Dori, Onikudaki (plus 2 techniques we don’t know the name of), Sannindori, Omotegyaku ken sabaki and much more. The instructors speak Swedish on this video!

About the instructor

Mats Hjelm started training in Bujinkan for the first time around 1983, but it wasn’t until 1986 he had the opportunity to start training more seriously under a Shidôshi. He attends around 20 seminars, go to Japan 2-3 times every year. Since he started training he never had a training break. He takes his budo training very seriously! Store problem…

I was just notified that the web shop system isn’t working properly (not the download store which works fine). I don’t know for how long it’s been like that, but it’s been awfully quiet for a very long time know. I don’t know why it’s broken, but I made a back up of the whole site now, and will update with the latest patches ASAP. And hope this will resolve the problems.

Even the contact form was broken :-/. But I switched to the wordpress contact form instead of the shop system… http://budoshop.se/contact/

You can e-mail or use the contact form and notify what you want to order, and we will reply with a Paypal money request ASAP. And then ship the order when cleared, even if we haven’t got the web site up and working properly.

Thanks to you guys who notified us by e-mail and Facebook!

Edit: Minor problems with the update. The contact form worked, but the installation changed all the files where telephone number and e-mail address is. I need to manually change all the 20 files :-/ (this happens everytime I upgrade, it is stupid!).

Please let me know if it still doesn’t work!…

Elias taught Kihon Happou with Juppou Sesshou feeling. Dean talked about and taught basic principles in combat. Mats taught the Kunai Kata with help from Onni Koskinen and Ed. Thomas taught Taijutsu and Kunai. Ed taught ten breathing excercises and knife defense. Sveneric taught Bajutsu, Kunai and Sanshin no Kata. Lubos taught Kunai and Taijutsu. Michael Clysén taught Ten Ryaku no Maki techniques and Mariette did henka with the Kunai.

There was also a Q&A session, where the instructors talked about this years theme and much more.

Kaigousuru 3 -- the third International Bujinkan Training Party with Pedro Fleitas in Sweden.

The theme of this year was Kukishin-ryu Taijutsu. Mr. Brooks “Bing” Ford who was a well known and respected 10′th Dan in Bujinkan passed away 88 years old sept. 24′th 1999. Mr. Ford’s favourite weapon was the Hanbo (short/walking staff). Pedro dedicated this seminar to Mr. Ford and taught a lot of Hanbo techniques. He also taught Taijutsu against one and several opponents, and Bojutsu. Mr. Fleitas is one of the best teachers in Bujinkan with an astounding flow and timing, here he is in top form.
