Shortly after returning from training in Japan again with Soke and the Shihan, Holger held this seminar in Kaigozan Dojo, Stockholm, Sweden. Denna video visar många bra och effektiva tekniker där man hamnat på marken. I många situationer hamnar man på marken och det är inte alltid man kan rulla och ställa sig upp igen. Är man familjär med dessa tekniker har man mycket större chans att klara av en situation där man hamnar på marken och måste agera snabbt och instinktivt.

Den 7:e Augusti 2004 gästade Marcus Widengren Kaigôzan Dôjô i Stockholm, och höll ett endags läger i Brasiliansk Ju Jutsu. Han gick igenom grundpositioner, hur man tar sig loss från fasthållningar, hur man låser fast någon på marken, armlås, strypningar m.m. Sista timmen svarade han på deltagarnas frågor om BJJ historia, han förklarade och visade också försvar mot slag/spark, fula knep, benlås.

Vi bjöd in Marcus för att lära oss mer om BJJ som blivit alltmer populär pga deras effektiva markkamp tekniker. Eftersom Marcus också mycket seriöst tränat Bujinkan i 10 år inkluderat ett flertal Japanresor och träning med Hatsumi Sensei på 90 -talet, så var lägret också lite anpassat för oss i Bujinkan. Det var ett väldigt lyckat och lärorikt läger.

We had Duncan Stewart here in Stockholm for a seminar in the beginning of April 2010. We filmed all the trainings and release them on two separate DVDs, each one is 2 hours long, we also released another DVD from the extra training where he taught Kihon Happo.

KIHON HAPPO (TACHI KUMIUCHI)

Kihon Happō is the most fundamental and important unarmed fighting techniques in the Bujinkan system.

On this DVD Duncan show the basic techniques, henka and more advanced. Without weapons and with weapons, also the connection to this years theme Rokkon-shoujou.

Mats Hjelm Shihan from Sweden and Jukka Nummenranta Shihan from Finland also contributed to this training.

Budo is not about instruction. It is about learning to teach yourself. This is the first thing I want people who attend the Bushinden Kai to understand. We are all on our own Shugyo. We must take responsibility for ourselves, while developing the heart and compassion of the Bujinkan Bugeisha.

Who is Duncan Stewart

Duncan Stewart has been training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu since 1988 and is ranked Judan Kugyo. He has lived in Japan since 2004 and trains consistently with Hatsumi Soke, Nagato Shihan, Noguchi Shihan, Someya Shihan and Someya Shihan. He is often uke and asked to demonstrate at classes.
Duncan was Nagato Shihans sole uke at the Bujinkan Honbu for two years when studying direct from the Gyokko Ryu Densho and the Kukishinden Ryu.

Kihon Happō is the most fundamental and important unarmed fighting techniques in the Bujinkan system.

On video Mats show the basic techniques. Each technique have two ura-waza and many henka. Included is for example Oni-kudaki, Muso-dori, Ō-gyaku and more as ura-waza techniques on this movie.

In August 2004 Tim Bathurst came to visit us in Stockholm, Sweden to give a seminar on this years Bujinkan theme, Roppô Kuji no Biken. This video is from the extra training on Thursday, and the first hours from Sunday morning at the seminar (see Keiko#9). He taught Kihon Happô basics and applications with or without weapons, mostly knife and swords.

Who is Tim Bathurst?

Good question… Tim is a senior student of Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi, living and training in Tokyo Japan. After a few visits starting in 1990, Tim moved to Japan in 1997 and is one of the few foreigners to have earned the title of Shihan while living in Japan. Presently graded at Judan-ka (10th Dan-Fire level…13th Dan to some.)

Tim has never been in the Military, never served as a police officer, never done personal security, never been to war… Actually, the only thing he has really done is train with the best of the Bujinkan for the last dozen years or so.

If you\’ve been to Japan in the last 5 years or so you would have seen Tim at Hatsumi sensei\’s or Nagato sensei\’s dojos. If you\’re unlucky you will also have to put up with him translating from Japanese into his own Australian version of English… and occasionally into rather poor Spanish.

One of the huge benefits of training for so long in Japan is that Tim has learnt his weapons technique as well as his Taijutsu directly from the Grandmaster and the top Master students of the Art.

Lubos had spent 3 months training and teaching in Japan right before he came for this seminar. On this video he covers the first six techniques from Togakure-ryu Santo Tonko no Kata, and many different applications with different weapons and multiple opponents.

The training was relaxed and fun, the feeling was just as the trainings in Honbu dojo in Japan. It was a beautiful weekend and the training was outside. Lubos had a microphone on so you can hear him very good..

About the instructor

Lubos Pokorny (Shihan 15th Dan Happo Biken) is a student of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, the 34th Grandmaster of Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu. As such, he has traveled around the world to take part in Hatsumi Sensei’s training events. During these travels Lubos represents the Czech Republic, beginning his training in 1991, he is the first Czech student of the Bujinkan as well as the founder of the Bujinkan Czech Dojo.

During his stays in Japan, usually 4-5 months per year he also teaches at the Hombu Dojo.
